Privacy Policy

Last updated August 1, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This placeholder policy describes, in general terms, what a production privacy policy for Martech Academy would cover.

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Martech Academy collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to students, instructors, and visitors to the platform.

2. Information we collect

Account information: name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and role (student or instructor).

Usage information: courses viewed, lessons completed, and general interaction with the platform, used to track progress and improve recommendations.

Payment information: handled by our payment processors — we receive confirmation of payment but do not store full card numbers.

Instructor information: for payouts, we collect the information required by our payment processor to verify identity and send payments.

3. How we use information

To provide the core functionality of the platform: course enrollment, progress tracking, and instructor payouts.

To communicate with you about your account, courses you're enrolled in or teaching, and platform updates.

To improve the platform, including understanding which courses and features are used and how.

4. How information is shared

We share the minimum information necessary with instructors of courses you're enrolled in (e.g. your name and progress), so they can support your learning.

We share information with service providers who help us operate the platform — payment processing, hosting, and analytics — under contracts that limit their use of it.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies

We use cookies for essential platform functionality (like staying signed in) and, with consent where required, for analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights from your account settings or by contacting us.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on internal systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect.

10. Contact

Privacy questions or requests can be sent to our team through the Contact page.
